Bill Cosby's Wife Camille Ordered To Testify In Civil Court

The ground continues to give way beneath Bill Cosby's feet as his wife of 52 years, Camille, is called to testify against the entertainer in civil court this coming Wednesday, reports Reuters. A total of seven women have brought charges regarding Bill in the Massachusetts civil lawsuit, claiming that he "sexually assaulted or abused them, that each publicly accused Cosby, and Cosby responded by calling the women liars, thus defaming them..."

Camille Cosby has served as her husband's business manager. Although Camille insists she has had no firsthand knowledge of the incidents at hand and argued that this deposition would constitute an "undue burden," David Hennessy, a Massachusetts federal magistrate judge, rejected the claim.

This past week, the patriarch of The Cosby Show was arrested on charges of sexual assault in Philadelphia by 44-year-old Andrea Constand, a former basketball manager at Temple University. This is the only current criminal case against him, though more than 50 other women claim that he sexually assaulted them over a span of several decades.

Bill is currently free on $1 million bail and his lawyer maintains his claim of innocence.

Why You'll Never See Jennifer Lawrence's Abercrombie Photos

Jennifer Lawrence is an Oscar-winning actress, but there was a time when she considered modeling.

In an interview on British talk show The Graham Norton Show, Lawrence recounted a hilarious story about the time she almost landed an Abercrombie & Fitch modeling campaign.

Abercrombie created a football-themed shoot. Football is right up Lawrence's alley of interests, so she signed on to participate. It was a disaster.

"The other models are, like, playing football in a pretty way, but not me.” Lawrence said. “I’ve got a red face, covered in sweat, my nostrils are flaring.”

Of course, Lawrence thought she'd nailed the shoot, so she was surprised when the photos were never released.

“I did the whole campaign and the pictures never came out, and I didn’t know why,” Lawrence explained. “My agent wrote and asked why, and they literally only responded with the photos.”

Suffice to say, a red, sweaty face isn't appealing for a modeling campaign.

Only one photo survived the doomed Abercrombie shoot. It shows Lawrence smiling — without football or flaring nostrils in sight.

Is 2016 shaping up to be the year of the superbaby?

First, we had the news that Chrissy Teigen and her crooner husband, John Legend, are expecting a baby girl. And now, Israeli beauty Bar Refaeli — the former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover star and famous ex to Leonardo DiCaprio — has a bundle of joy on the way with her handsome husband, Adi Ezra, the heir to an Israeli food importing company. When incredible gene pools collide!

Refaeli took to Instagram on New Year's Eve, sharing the great news with her fans. But rather than a "baby bump" pic, she went with a shot of her affirmative Clearblue pregnancy test.

She writes: "2016 is going to be like.. 👶🏼 🍼Happy & Healthy New Year !"

While Refaeli obviously has a long stint with Leo in her past (the two were an item from 2005 to 2009), Ezra has his own history of dating within the A-crowd. The muscular, bald-headed billionaire dated Gisele Bündchen back in her pre-Brady days. Rafaeli and Ezra tied the knot last September in a traditional Jewish ceremony.

Utah Billboard For Whites-Only Dating Site Sparks Outrage

A billboard in Utah is advertising an online dating site — specifically for white people.

The Salt Lake Tribune has photos of a billboard in West Valley City, UT, promoting a dating website called WhereWhitePeopleMeet.com. The website, which charges a $4 membership fee, says, “There are various dating websites that promote and cater to just about every origin, race, religion and lifestyle out there. So again, why not ‘Where White People Meet.Com?’” The site adds that anyone of legal age can join, provided they’re willing to abide by the rules and regulations. As of Saturday morning, the site had just under 300 subscribers.

Despite the site’s justification, connecting white daters is not exactly a niche market. Utah, where the billboard appears, is 91% white.

Besides advocating for the melanin-deficient, the site also appears to be strictly heteronormative. The Salt Lake Tribune reports that the only search options are for heterosexual pairings, with men able to search only for women and vice-versa. Extramarital relationships, however, are not restricted — one user found by the Tribune listed himself as married and his profile picture displayed him in blackface.

Of course, Twitter responded to the billboard as Twitter is wont to do.

On New Year's Eve, Taylor Swift released the highly anticipated video for "Out of the Woods." The video varies greatly from her usual upbeat and bright mini-movies. Joseph Kahn, the "Out of the Woods" director, praised Swift on Twitter for stepping outside of her comfort zone for the video.

"Out of the Woods"
was filmed in New Zealand and features a solo Swift running through woods, rolling in mud, and jumping into water.

"Out of the Woods" is one of multiple collaborations between Kahn and Swift. He directed "Blank Space,""Wildest Dreams," and "Bad Blood," so Kahn definitely knows Swift's limits and how to push her out of them.

On Instagram, Kahn also revealed some of the behind-the-scenes action from the video.

Right before the video was released, Swift tweeted,"She lost him, but she found herself, and somehow that was everything."

"Out of the Woods" is Swift finding her inner adventurer.

Experts Say Gonorrhea May Soon Be Untreatable

Gonorrhea, a sexually transmitted disease, may soon be untreatable, according to England's chief medical officer.

Dame Sally Davies sent a warning to all pharmacies and doctors in the United Kingdom to ensure that they are prescribing the correct medication to treat gonorrhea. If the right medicine isn't prescribed, Davies fears that gonorrhea will evolve to the point that it is no longer treatable.
The warning comes amid an outbreak of a highly resistant strain of gonorrhea in September 2015.

“Gonorrhea has rapidly acquired resistance to new antibiotics, leaving few alternatives to the current recommendations. It is therefore extremely important that suboptimal treatment does not occur,” Davies wrote in her letter.
Some doctors have been prescribing an obsolete antibiotic that's been proven ineffective in killing the bacteria that causes gonorrhea. In 2011, one in five gonorrhea cases were treated with this particular antibiotic. Davies recommends treating gonorrhea with a combination of an injection and an oral dose of azithromycin or doxycycline.
In the United States, an estimated 820,000 people contract gonorrhea every year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The numbers continue to increase as better medications become available to treat incurable diseases, like HIV.

In a November 2015 report, the CDC said that having open communication about sex will decrease the percentage of Americans contracting STDs. "The first hurdle will be to confront the reluctance of American society to openly confront issues surrounding sexuality and STDs," the report stated.

Having protected sex is also vital for preventing the transmission of STDs.If doctors prescribe the correct medication, Davies predicts gonorrhea won't be able to evolve and will remain treatable.

Solo Songs By Harry Styles May Be In Your Future

Is the death of One Direction actually upon us? The Telegraph is reporting that the most coiffed member of the group, Harry Styles, has been writing songs without his bandmates.

Styles has apparently registered four new songs with the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers. On all four songs, the only performer listed is “Harry Edward Styles.” Is this the beginning of a solo career?

Styles isn’t the first one to take steps away from the group. In March, bandmate Zayn Malik announced his departure, prompting grief and despair among fans. And last month, Liam Payne released a song that he had written for Irish boyband Hometown.

Styles, the mischevous chap that he is, had previously denied rumors of a solo career. This time, however, the evidence makes it pretty clear that there’s something in the works.

Olivia Munn Sneaks Us A Peek At X-Men

It's good to be Olivia Munn. Just ask...Olivia Munn! The on-fire actor decided to bid adieu to 2015 with five Instagrams detailing the happenings for which she is most grateful. Among these blessings are a brand-new look at her X-Men: Apocalypse character, Psylocke, set against a post-apolayptic cityscape.

Munn — looking sexy and not-to-be-trifled-with in purple thigh-highs, leg straps, a rocking center part, and form-fitting maillot that would make Barbarella totally jealous — gives fans a little insight into Psylocke, writing: "She's a telekinetic telepath who chooses to kill with a sword because she wants to do it up close and intimate and killing from afar just seems too easy and no fun. 💜"

Now you may think that this coveted superhero role would be her number one thing to be grateful for from last year...but it's actually fourth on her list (just ahead of vacationing on the beach with her friends). Other 2015 highlights? Helping Jon Stewart conclude his stint as host of The Daily Show, the superlative football stylings of her dreamy boyfriend Aaron Rodgers, and getting the green light on a forthcoming CW series about a '70s-era female sportscaster.

If last year was any indication of what we can expect from Munn this year, consider us psyched.

Even Sarah McLachlan Can't Watch Those Sad ASPCA Ads

Nobody — and we mean nobody — is immune to those heartbreaking ASPCA ads. You know the ones. If you’re anything like us, you can’t even hear the opening bars to “Angel” anymore without bursting into tears like one of Pavlov’s (well-loved and cared for!) dogs. But it might make you feel better to know that you’re not alone. Even Sarah McLachlan says that the ads make her upset.

McLachlan told the blog Makers that she can’t handle her own ads. “I can’t watch them! It kills me,” she said in a video.

The super-successful ad was a happy accident. McLachlan had a friend at the ASPCA who asked if she would be interested in doing an ad for them. She was free that week, so she obliged and emotional history was made. “It was brutal doing those ads,” she laughed.

Brutal, but for a really good cause. “It works like a hot damn!” McLachlan said. Originally aired in 2007, the ads managed to raise a staggering $30 million in just the first two years of their release. It’s the single most successful fundraising effort for the organization, coming in at over half of a year’s annual budget raised. That’s a lot of puppies who got treats.

Don’t worry — we won’t be linking the video here. We wouldn’t subject anyone to the emotional upheaval that those sad eyes produce. But the ASPCAdoes take donations year-round. There’s always an opportunity to be an angel for an animal in need.

This Will Make Your iPhone Sound SO Much Better

Our generation forged its identity on music that's convenient. MP3's, iPods, and streaming music apps have given us instant access to the songs we want. This typically comes with a price, though: quality. Maybe you've purchased a nice pair of headphones to up the quality and comfort level of your mobile listening, but that only goes so far.

To get record-level, concert audio out of your iPhone, you need something extra to reduce noise and interference to make those digital audio signals sound more vivid and lifelike. The new Boomcloud360 Boomstick is one such device that does this in a super portable and affordable package.

The Boomstick is an oval-shaped device. It plugs into your headphone jack, and you plug your headphones or earbuds into it. Switch it on and press the big button on the front, and suddenly your favorite music — whether streamed from Spotify or stored on your phone — sounds noticeably better, and louder.

Overall, it amps up the volume of what you're playing, which can be useful if you're listening in a noisy environment like a subway car or an airplane. It also clarifies the individual instruments and song components so you can pick out the piano, the snare drum, and the bass guitar, rather than hearing them muddled together in the background. Additionally, vocals sound fuller. If you are listening in a quiet environment though, it does amplify background noise too. So while everything else is improved, you have a steady background buzz as well, which can be annoying.

Still, using the Boomstick makes you feel like you're listening to music in a room, rather than through a pair of tinny Apple EarPods. BoomCloud360 says that with the Boomstick, the audio quality of said EarPods becomes equivalent to a $200 or $300 pair of Beats headphones.

The Boomstick definitely isn't the only device to do this type of thing. Audiophiles have been using DACs (digital to analog converters) and preamps for ages, but typically, they're a lot more expensive. The Boomstick, which is available for pre-order now, only costs $99, and will ship this spring.

If you like the portability of your earbuds, but want better audio, this could be just what you're looking for. If you already have an excellent pair of headphones, the purchase could still potentially improve your music, but not as drastically.

We have HD and 4K for awesome video. It's about time we start listening to audio that's just as good, too.

Your Horoscope For This Week

$
0
0
The heavens are busy this week, stargazers, with a double-whammy of retrogrades and a new moon. Well, at least 2016 won’t be off to a boring start? On Tuesday, Mercury plunges into its first of four retrogrades this year. This backspin starts in Aquarius, the sign of teamwork and technology. There could be some unexpected shifts to our office org charts this week — and some unexpected trips to the Genius Bar. Password protect your data and back it up, too. Then, on Friday, Mercury retreats through career-focused Capricorn until January 25. Press pause on the #cantstopswontstop momentum and really assess those resolutions. Mercury retro brings reality checks that can actually be helpful. Review, refine, and revise before plowing ahead on the 25th.

On Thursday, expansive Jupiter joins the retrograde brigade, backstroking through systematic Virgo until May 9. Here comes reality check number two! Are we working at maximum efficiency? Instead of lifehacking and cramming, how about setting up plans that make sense? Virgo is also the sign of healthy living. How about weaving a better work-life balance into our project plans, too? Gym time and salad days aren’t a luxury, Jupiter reminds us, but a necessary means to staying productive. Now...how to create some whitespace in the over-crammed schedule? Saturday’s new moon in goal-oriented Capricorn helps with the streamlining process. And since it’s cruising alongside take-no-prisoners Pluto, we’ll have no trouble dropping those draining tasks and energy vampires like hot potatoes. Bye, Felicia!

Capricorn
Open mouth, insert Chelsea boot? Cool, composed Capricorn, get ready for some gaffes. Messenger Mercury turns retrograde from Tuesday until January 25. And while it will hit your money zone for half of this week (lock down the plastic!), on Friday, the communication planet slips back into Capricorn for the rest of this three-week voyage. Basically, this ensures that half of your words will get lost in translation. Don’t even bother trying to explain yourself or drum up support for the cause. Just develop big ideas behind the scenes and wait until the 25th to schedule any big reveals.

A second retrograde goes down on Thursday, when ambitious Jupiter takes a nap in your jet-setting, enterprising ninth house until May 9. You’ve got plans...big, big plans. But are you putting the cart before the horse? Hit pause, so you can assess and fine tune. It’s not that you have to halt your global expansion or cancel that yoga and sweat-lodge retreat at Maya Tulum. But DO look before you take another leap. You have a habit of spreading yourself too thin. If you concentrate your efforts, you could really hit the big time this spring.

Fortunately, there IS some cause for celebration. On Saturday, the annual new moon in Capricorn brings some rocket-fuel for your tanks. Be “selfish” this weekend and think about what you want to accomplish and experience by the corresponding full moon on July 19. Provider that you are, everyone around you is bound to benefit from your happiness.

Aquarius
Warning: Anything that you say, text, or tweet can — and probably will — be held against you this week. On Tuesday, communicator Mercury freefalls into retrograde until January 25. But here’s the real rub: Until this Friday, that backspin takes place in your sign, putting you in the crosshairs. This is not the week to hone your comedic chops by trying out a controversial new routine on Snapchat or even to broach tense topics when there’s smoke coming out of your ears. It gets easier on Friday, when Mercury slips back into Capricorn and your 12th house of healing and forgiveness until the 25th. Think about making amends — or just losing those toxic frenemies for good. Dive into a decluttering mission, too. Sort through those stacks of old papers, haul clothes to Buffalo Exchange, and do your own version of an Instagram Rapture. When it comes to friends and followers, you need quality over quantity. Saturday’s new moon in Capricorn will bring motivation for those clear the air and clean your house missions. (Use this checklist as a guide.) As you “Kondo” your space, you’ll make room for the muse. This new moon brings surges of creative inspiration that should not be ignored! You could also start a crazy-dedicated meditation or yoga practice.

On Thursday, Jupiter turns retrograde, too, backing up in your eighth house of seduction, shared resources and intense transformations until May 9. Dicey? Sure, but jealousy can be a great guide if used properly. Rather than reacting to those feelings of envy, let them guide and inform you. You want something badly, so what will it take to manifest your own version of it? (As opposed to begrudging someone else.) Working behind the scenes between now and May 9 will make you stronger, sexier, and smarter than the “competition” when you emerge from your studio this spring.

Pisces
Friends, foes, or frenemies? It ain’t easy to tell this week, as social Mercury slips into retrograde mode from Tuesday till January 25. Through Friday, the backspin goes down in your 12th house of hidden enemies. Beware the snake in sister’s clothing or the oddly persistent salesperson. If they’re pressuring you in any way, you can be sure they have a hidden agenda — one that puts THEIR best interests above your own. Resist! It eases up on Friday a bit, as Mercury freefalls back into Capricorn and your 11th house of teamwork and technology. Although this can screw with that iPad Air Santa brought you (curses!) and make you rethink your participation in a group, it can also bring happy reunions with your squad from back in the day. Get the band back together or rent a ski house for an upcoming weekend to toast old times. Saturday’s new moon in Capricorn will inspire you to expand your social horizons with some fresh faces, too. If you’ve been a happy attendee of a group — and a regular one, at that — fill out the paperwork to make your participation formal. Membership has its privileges.

The love rollercoaster could get a little bit bumpy this week, as magnifying Jupiter turns retrograde in your partnership house from Thursday until May 9. A relationship may be moving a little too fast — or too leisurely — for your liking. Jupiter’s backspin gives you a chance to adjust and honestly assess your needs. This applies to all sorts of partnerships. You’ve never been one to follow the rulebook, Pisces. But getting your collaborators on board with your vision WILL take compromise (even a little more than you’d prefer) for the next four months. If they’re worth keeping around, find better ways to cooperate and compromise. Creative thinking — and possibly some extra travel — is required.

Aries
Change your passwords and increase your cloud storage capacity. Pesky Mercury is turning retrograde from Tuesday until January 25 — and until this Friday especially, it will affect your techie toys and digital data more than usual. But after that, your career is in Mercury’s crosshairs. Before you go into a meeting or hit the send button on a “finished” assignment, make sure you’ve done thorough research and review. This is NOT the time to wing it. Also, pay attention to the existing pyramid of power before you go in for the kill. Charming the second-in-command could be a more strategic move than alienating the VP (who actually has more say over your success) as you try to woo the big boss. Mercury’s backspin could reunite you with an important guy from your past — a pleasant surprise! Your relationships with men could be both stimulating and strained for the coming three weeks — even more so since Saturday brings a new moon in Capricorn. Talk to new guys and don’t sweep conflicts under the rug with the dudes you already know. Working through issues will bring you closer as long as you pick the right time (Read: NOT when he’s at work or watching ESPN.) to discuss.

On Thursday, lucky Jupiter joins the retrograde brigade in your sixth house of work and healthy living until May 9. Storage almost full. Need more memory. You could hit max capacity, like an iPhone with too many apps open at once. Time to scale back and simplify, so that your energy isn’t scattered in so many different directions. While you hate to say no to people, you need to say yes to your own sanity. Bow out of situations that are draining you without bringing enough of an ROI. Also, make sure your schedule includes times for relaxing, preparing healthy meals, and working out. Getting back on the wellness wagon should be a high priority item!

Taurus
Open mouth, insert wide-leg jeans? This Tuesday, messenger Mercury dips into retrograde mode for three weeks, increasing your propensity for blurting things you probably shouldn’t. But until Friday, Mercury will cruise your career section, warning against any hasty moves on the job. Wait — even though you REALLY wanted to schedule that pitch meeting or crowdfunding campaign in, like, 2015. Haste makes waste, so give projects another coat of polish before taking them public. From Friday until the 25th, Mercury slips back through Capricorn and your truth-telling ninth house. Get your facts straight before you make any assertions. On a positive note, this is a great time to study, re-connect to summer festival buddies and long-distance contacts, or even re-visit a location that you love. Saturday’s new moon in Capricorn awakens your wanderlust, too, so start scouring the travel blogs for your next big trip. If waiting is an option, start a Pinterest board now, then book tickets when Mercury turns direct on the 25th. Otherwise, read those TripAdvisor reviews!

There’s one more retrograde to contend with: On Thursday, show pony Jupiter turns retrograde in your fifth house of fame and self-expression until May 9. And...cut! This is yet another prompt to disappear behind the scenes and hone your talents in private. That way, you can make a truly amazing debut come spring. Cupid’s arrows could misfire while Jupiter’s in reverse — or bring back an ex you thought you’d never see again. Pace yourself over the coming four months — and if you’re in a relationship, plan to put in an actual effort to keep the sparks alive rather than expecting romance to just happen.

Gemini
Fasten your seatbelt — or maybe your garter belt. Your ruling planet, expressive Mercury, hits the retrograde button from Tuesday until January 25, scrambling signals. Watch where you swing that truth hammer — and whose name your type into your search. A burning obsession for an old flame could consume you — especially after Friday when Mercury slinks back into your eighth house of sex. Did bad timing cause the breakup? Okay, send a text. But if this will incite anger, jealousy, pain, and drama, you’re better off blocking that repeat offender. Coupled Geminis may feel the need for some added reassurance and security now. Have The Talk, but don’t let jealousy or insecurity overtake you. You could wind up feeling like Piper Chapman at the month’s end if you imprison yourself with too rigid of an exclusivity clause. And hey, you don’t have do the romantic recycling thing. On Saturday, the new moon in Capricorn points you towards scintillating new options. You could meet someone with soulmate — or soul-friend — potential this weekend. Stay open.

Backing up to Thursday, there’s one more retrograde in the week’s forecast. Until May 9, expansive Jupiter retreats through your domestic sphere, stirring up discontent at home. Do you love where you live, Gemini? You need a sanctuary — not to mention a neighborhood with enough art and culture to stimulate your active mind. Jupiter’s backspin gives you a chance to assess. But whether you’re shopping for a new address or pricing out plush wool rugs, take your time. You might actually decide to return to an old zip code by spring. Intensity from a female friend or relative could exhaust you now. Put up better boundaries — you can’t take on her issues as your own!

Cancer
You are never, ever, ever getting back to together...uh, right, Cancer? This week could bring some unexpected developments on the love front. Consider yourself notified: Mercury will turn retrograde in your relationship zones from Tuesday until January 25, making it a little too easy to pardon the players from your past. Before amnesia (or a dreaded weekend drunk dial) takes hold, purge your phone log of all traces of THAT number. You could do without the temptation or the trouble. BUT...do you have a “one that got away?” This Mercury phase could bring a long-overdue reunion with that person you regret dumping — or cutting off before things ever turned romantic. Test the waters with a text this week. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. You might even wait until Saturday to do so: A helpful new moon in Capricorn and your relationship house can increase your chances of getting a positive response. And hey, you could meet someone new this weekend, too. Don’t limit yourself. If you’re coupled, January will come with its fair share of lover’s quarrels. Taking time outs is advised, so don’t say (or do) anything you regret.

Thursday brings another planetary PSA to use your words — but use them wisely. Shoot-from-the-hip Jupiter turns retrograde in your communication house through May 9, giving your words extra weight. During this time, you want to make sure that your message is strong and clear — and that might just mean refining, researching, and hiring editors, branding specialists, and consultants. If you have a writing project in the works, this would be a stellar time to develop it behind the scenes. Reconnect to friends from the past, too — especially ones you traveled with or who have moved to other cities. With jetsetting Jupiter in the mix, a couchsurfing reunion tour might just have to happen for you.

Leo
Help...air! Mercury dives into a claustrophobic retrograde from Tuesday until January 25, and suddenly, you need space from everyone and everything. Until Friday, the messenger planet backtracks through your relationship house, basically ensuring that your favorite people will work your nerves. Don’t burn bridges by having discussions when you’re angry or annoyed. You are likely to say (mean) things you regret. On Friday, Mercury floats back into Capricorn and your systematic sixth house. A deep-dive decluttering mission would be the perfect place to channel your early 2016 angst. But make a “maybe” pile before listing everything on eBay. Selling your great grandmother’s wedding china can bring future regrets — even if you never think you’ll use it. This planetary energy could spur you into healthy living mode, too, especially with Saturday’s vitality-boosting new moon. Nab a Class Pass, so you can try out the studios in your area without having to commit to a one-year membership right away.

Also, Leo: tighten up those purse strings. From Thursday until May 9, impulsive Jupiter turns retrograde in your finance house, forcing you to operate from a (cough) budget. While there may be less impulse grabs at the cash wrap (Do you really need another pair of earrings?), you could seriously raise your financial IQ. Find a money coach or sign up for a seminar to learn the finer points of reconciling your funds and then investing them wisely. To improve your professional standing, be willing to pay your dues for the next four months. Learning new skills and locking in great connections will bring a salary boost in the spring.

Virgo
Dot every i and cross all your t’s. The devil is in the details starting Tuesday, when your cosmic ruler Mercury turns retrograde for three weeks. Getting back to the gym — not to mention into work mode — will be tough. Don’t try to dive in full-speed and risk injuries or a stress meltdown. On Friday, Mercury falls back into Capricorn and your fifth house of romance until the 25th. The road to happily-ever-after could take a few twists and turns during this time. You could discover some disconcerting data about the object of your affections — and even get a cryptic message from an ex. Hey, everyone has a past. The question is: How are they dealing with those issues? People CAN change, as long as they are willing to put in the work. Go easy on the makeover magic with Mercury in reverse, sticking to minor and temporary updates. But wait until February to chop a short bob or get a new hand tattoo. Saturday’s new moon in Capricorn opens up a fresh six-month chapter in love, whether you’re single or spoken for.

On Thursday, Jupiter joins the retrograde brigade, calling you off the stage and into your dressing room until May 9. From August 11 until this September 9, the planet of luck and expansion is touring Virgo, something that only happens every 12.5 years. But with bon vivant Jupiter retrograde for four months, you need to tap the brakes. Take a time out and go develop your craft behind the scenes. You’ll still feel the bounty of Jupiter’s generosity. But retrace your steps before taking on anything new. In your zeal for progress and independence, did you throw the baby out with the bathwater? Or maybe push a good one away? Fine tune over the next four months and re-integrate the parts of your past still worth keeping around. You’ll have the perfect blend of retro and futuristic when the force returns on May 9!

Libra
Keep the swagger in check, Libra — yes, even if you’ve earned it. Messenger Mercury’s hitting the retrograde button from Tuesday until January 25 and your pride could be mistaken for ego. Also, expect family feuds after Friday when Mercury dips back into Capricorn and your domestic sphere. Butting heads with relatives and roommates could even prompt you to go hunting for your own one-bedroom. If you can wait until after the 25th to sign a lease, do. Otherwise, inspect, inspect, inspect. Open up cabinets and look for evidence of creepy-crawly things (gag). And visit the neighborhood day AND night to make sure it’s well-lit and has enough going on to sate your inner culture vulture. On a positive note, Mercury’s backspin could reunite you to a childhood friend or bring happy bonding times with your mom, sister or another female relative. Bring on the GNOs and girl gang getaways — especially near Saturday’s cozy new moon.

There’s another planetary push to relax, relate and RETREAT. On Thursday, jetsetting Jupiter turns retrograde in your 12th house of healing and creativity, amplifying your escape fantasies. Getting away from it all could look like a beachy yoga retreat or a daily meditation practice…or both. Jupiter’s backspin could send you on a vitality voyage whether you’re working with a great doctor, therapist or spiritual healer. Detoxify your life — from your daily menu to the friends you keep in your inner circle — as you’ll be extra sensitive to energy between now and May 9.

Scorpio
Reunited, and it feels so good! Socialite Mercury turns retrograde from Tuesday until January 25, bringing a few blasts from the past. If you get the urge to google what’s-her-name, follow your intuition. There could be surprising synergies still bubbling or a great opportunity to collaborate on a project. And with Saturday’s new moon in your house of kindred spirits, some potential new BFFs could also appear. All this fresh social energy is a positive, since there’s a good chance you’re craving breathing room from your December squad. Things have gotten tense lately...or just a little too close for comfort. Warning: Mercury’s backspin could sharpen that Scorpio stinger, so easy with the snarky comments. Even your helpful hints could get lost in translation. Think very carefully before you tweet, text, or Snapchat any controversial statements. Your misguided missives could go viral with Mercury in reverse — oh, the epic embarrassment!

Speaking of your friend lists, a second retrograde is also urging you to revise and refine. From Thursday until May 9, expansive Jupiter hits the snooze button in your 11th house of social networking. Hang that red velvet rope around any groups you are a part of. If you’re going to let new members in, make them prove their loyalty and willingness to work as hard as everyone else. Since the 11th house is the technology sector, enterprising Jupiter’s backspin offers a solid window for learning a new piece of software or developing a mobile product, website, or invention behind the scenes (crowdfunded, even). Waiting until the spring to debut it might be your best bet — and certainly until Mercury turns direct on January 25!

Sagittarius
Lock up the plastic and cinch that belt a little tighter. Impulsive Mercury nosedives into retrograde this Tuesday, scrambling signals in your second house of finances. While your Champagne wishes are on the rise, your PBR budget could tell a different story. Even if you are flush with cash, Mercury’s backspin advises you to tuck it away for a rainy AND a sunny day...in the future. Why not kick off 2016 with a mission to educate yourself on the finer points of money management? Saturday’s new moon brings some motivating beams for this mission and even word of a new job or client. It doesn’t have to be feast or famine all the time for you, Archer. You just need to learn the rules of the saving and investing game. As you map out your future, look to your past. An old client or colleague could hold the keys to a profitable opportunity. Maybe it’s time to revive a business project that got shelved. Divine timing could finally be on your side.

Another warning from the stars: Look before you leap! This Thursday, horizon-expanding Jupiter — your cosmic guardian — turns retrograde in your 10th house of career until May 9. By no means will this bring your plans for worldly success to a screeching halt. But you might have to go back to the drawing board with a couple ideas or create a more reasonable timeline for reaching the finish line. You’re the ultimate indie spirit, Sagittarius, but you’ll get farther faster with a little help from your ambitious friends. Network like mad with prestigious people during this four-month spell — yes, even if you have to pick up their dry cleaning and book their flights to get your wedge boot in the door.

Certain beauty products — think NARS blush in Orgasm or Clinique's Black Honey lipstick — are so good, they're practically famous and have devoted, loyal followings. While we love many of these, we've been wondering why others have been quietly flying under the radar. With that in mind, meet our series, Cult Classics, in which we'll introduce you to the products you should really, truly know about (and try, like, right now). They're not brand-new, but trust us: They've got staying power.

Anyone with curly hair knows that second-day styling is tricky. Short of washing your hair every single morning to reboot your curls, you either need solid updo skills (spoiler alert: I don’t have those) or you settle for oily roots and limp strands. It’s a tale as old as time, and a struggle as real any. But there's a third option, and it starts with Living Proof’s Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo.
After I tried and disliked at least a dozen different dry shampoos, this one was truly a pleasant surprise. I just shake the bottle, spray a few different areas at the roots, wait 30 seconds, and then use my fingers to muss the whole thing up. Occasionally, I notice some residue upon application, but it’s quickly dusted off as I work the product through my scalp. I watch, satisfied, as my formerly pillow-flattened curls are transformed by va-va-voom volume.

And compared to other brands, this shit actually lasts all day. I’ve experimented with the cheap stuff that starts out strong but leaves me with deflated curls and oily roots by 2:00 p.m. This is not the case with Living Proof: The formula soaks up oil and sweat instead of masking it, so my hair feels legitimately clean after I apply.

My only complaint: the product's slightly too-floral smell, which is pleasant, but a touch strong and...enduring. But it certainly isn’t enough to deter me from everyday use. Besides, an occasional whiff of fragrance is a small price to pay for long-lasting, second-day (even third-day) perfection.

Little Saint West, the newest addition to the Kardashian-West clan, got his first taste of Instagram stardom on Saturday night. Proud mama Kim posted a pic of him with big sister North that immediately captured the internet's attention.

The adorable shot shows the two siblings holding hands. Kardashian-West captioned it with a heart-melting explaination. "She said, 'He's my best friend,'" she wrote, immediately winning us over in the contest for sweetest Instagram of 2016.

Saint West was born on December 5, meaning he made his IG debut at just under one month old. He's already generated more than 1 million likes.

Kardashian-West preceded that shot with some decidedly informal Instagrams of the Kardashian clan spending New Year's Eve together in sweats, keeping it low-key. The family who would often celebrate the holiday with appearances at clubs in Las Vegas are now all about those kids. Who needs bottle service when there's Saint West?

Pitch Perfect
's Bellas are going to the Chapel of Love, people. Who's gonna get married? No, not Beca and Jesse! It's real-life a cappella pair Anna Camp (Aubrey) and Skylar Astin. They're making their union official for 2016.

The too-adorable-for-words twosome each took to Instagram on Saturday to spread the good news, flashing Camp's dazzling new diamond ring along with their million-dollar smiles.

Camp's Instagram captioned the sweet shot as: "He asked. I said YES!!!!"

And...here's Astin's: "I asked. She said yes!!!"

(These two seem to be just as harmonious when they post as they are when they sing.)

The joyful announcement came while the two were enjoying a picturesque Hawaiian vacation. Camp shared several beautiful surfing and scenery shots from the trip before the pair dropped its big romantic proclamation. In fact, Camp had hinted at the engagement with a cute golfing pic a few hours before the ring picture, captioning it: "Today we hit a hole in one! Happy new year!!! @skylarastin #Kauai."

Emma Watson Tweets Support For New Hermione

The original Hermione Granger has got nothing but well wishes for Hermione 2.0.

Emma Watson took a moment this weekend to tweet words of support for actress Noma Dumezweni, who will be playing the Hogwarts alum in a London stage production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Dumezweni's casting had raised eyebrows, as the English actress happens to be Black. And no, the guy playing Ron Weasley isn't particularly ginger, either. Deal with it, folks.

Here's the message Watson tweeted about the play.

Dumezweni was understandably humbled by the message and sent her own tweet.

The play doesn't get underway until July 30, but it's nice to see everyone getting along. That still gives you plenty of time to save up for a trip to London, FYI.

Size 2 Ashley Benson Told She Was "Too Fat" For A Role

If you want insight into just how distorted Hollywood's idea of healthy body images is, consider this startling confession from Ashley Benson.

In a new interview with Ocean Drive magazine, the Pretty Little Liars star revealed that she lost out on a role because of her size. For the record, she's a size 2.

"I was just told I was too fat for a part,” she admitted. “I’m a size 2! I cried for 30 minutes, but then you have to let it roll off your shoulders or it could cause a serious eating disorder. A lot of people in this industry hear they need to lose weight more times than they should. It does make you stronger, though. Because if you let that affect you, you can’t be in this industry — you’d go crazy.”

The actress also explained why she's against heavy airbrushing, saying she wouldn't want female fans to mistake a retouched shot for reality.

“I saw photos from a shoot of myself just the other day and thought, What the hell? That doesn’t even look like me! I was so disappointed,” she told the magazine. “I hate to think that girls are like, ‘She’s so skinny! Her skin is so perfect!’ I have pimples just like they do.”

Read Benson's full interview over at Ocean Drive.

The Shoe Trend Emma Roberts Loves (& You Will, Too)

It doesn't take long for us to notice a celebrity's latest fashion signature. Just a few post-gym sightings were enough to make the matching set synonymous with TaylorSwift'sstyle. Kendall Jenner's wardrobe can be summed up with a few key items she wears over and over again. It makes it all the easier to copy be inspired by their go-tos. The latest off-duty moment to obsess over comes courtesy of Emma Roberts: velvet shoes.

The actress' footwear of choice these days confirms a trend we've been calling for a while — the plushy fabric, beloved in the '90s, is the texture of the season. Whether it's in the form of burgundy booties for a coffee break or bright-red block heels with denim for a day out, richly textured kicks are an easy way to jazz up the jeans-and-blouse formula. Plus, Roberts procures some of her pairs from fast-fashion favorites like Topshop and Boohoo, so it's a win-win — no-fuss and actually affordable. Fall in love with the #OOTD-elevating look now, before snow hits the ground (that'll make maintenance a little trickier). See how Roberts champions the style, ahead.

Roberts perfectly aces two big trends in one go with her red-velvet grandma heels. This particular style from Topshop happens to be one of our favorites— and has unfortunately sold out. (Cue tears.) It's no surprise, seeing as the shoes work double-duty for Emma's ensemble. The pop of red helps the deep blues of the rest of her getup look brighter, and the shoes pair well with both the blouse's silkiness and the denim's rougher finish.

Are your fall/winter staples in need of a refresher? A bit of velvet is an easy way to start. Take this textbook #OOTD formula, for example: moto jacket, button-front skirt, and heeled ankle boots. It's a no-think, no-fail combination — yet you can still get outfit fatigue from the most brilliant of combos. Roberts trades black booties for a burgundy, velvet version. (These are from Boohoo.) They will fit into your closet like the rest of your seasonal staples, but feel brand-new (and also happen to be soft to the touch).

Velvet can also be a great addition to an outfit full of muted hues: An olive, military-inspired bomber with a striped T-shirt and faded, black skinny jeans feels fairly dressed-down, but the wine-colored, velvet ballet flats lend a touch of elegance. The outfit is all about comfort on the go, yet the unexpected textural detail makes it seem like you put in a tad more effort.
